New projects in Marbella
Málaga attracts BIG PROJECTS with millionaire investments. International funds return to the Costa del Sol, with projects for luxury hotels in Malaga and Marbella and a new shopping center in Torremolinos.
Only the three projects that are advanced will involve one billion euros of investment
After the years of the crisis, and with some of the main tourist destinations in the Mediterranean sunk in a strong political instability , Costa del Sol emerges as one of the safest and most desirable places for Large international investment groups carry out their tourism projects.

This week, the 135-meter-high skyscraper (35 floors) planned to be built on the Dique de Levante platform, between the cruise ship station and the Mediterranean Club marina, has been presented and will become the new icon Visual view of the city’s maritime panorama.
It will be called Hotel-Suites Malaga Port and will include 352 rooms ranging from one to three bedrooms, all with views of the sea and the city (from 300 to 600 euros per night). The investment initially planned amounts to about 120 million.
In the lower part are distributed access to the hotel and most of the services and complementary and leisure uses. Thus, next to the lobby, the dining room opens for breakfast; A hall of events (650 seats) and a garden area with a large infinity pool.
There will also be an auditorium, especially focused on the holding of congresses (550 spectators); A shopping area with shops and restaurants and, if it thrives at the administrative level, also a casino. Already in the tower, on the last floor has been drawn a restaurant of high level, with panoramic views; As well as a bar and a health and beauty center. Under the whole set will open an underground parking (485 seats)
El lujo apuesta por Marbella
In Marbella, it has just announced the next construction of a five-star luxury hotel in one of the areas of the most ecologically rich municipal district, the dunes of Real Zaragoza.
The project will involve a total investment of 300 million euros, which includes the 50 million already allocated to the purchase of land and infrastructure works that the company will undertake in the city, including a link in the A- 7, access to the beach and protection of the dunes by an action that will lead to the creation of a beach more than 150 meters deep on a coastal strip of about 450 meters.
The project consists of the construction of a hotel with capacity for 600 beds that in principle would be distributed between 200 rooms, and will be near a hundred of villas. The peculiarity of this initiative, in a city with five hotels of five stars (three of them Great Luxury) supposes the greater concentration in Andalusia of establishments of the maximum category, consists in that it will suppose the arrival to the Costa del Sol of a chain Of first class international luxury, which would end with a historical deficit of the tourist sector in the province.
The contract between this chain and the investment company has already been signed, and in fact it will be the hotel group that will assume the management of the construction of the hotel, although the identity will not be revealed until November, when the chain itself makes the announcement in the World Travel Market in London.
The hotel will be located in front of the beach in the dune area of Real Zaragoza and the project affect a total of 151,000 square meters of ground in front of the beach and is estimated to lead to the creation of a thousand Job positions.
Only 35% of the surface will be built, since the total destined to the hotel complex is 53,176 square meters. The rest will be divided into green areas (54,000 square meters), services and roads (27,000 square meters) and facilities (19,000 square meters). The company intends that the works can begin next summer, which should be completed in approximately two years. If everything goes according to plan the hotel could open in the summer of 2019.
El despegue de Torremolinos
New project of a commercial centre by the promoter company Intu Costa del Sol. It will be spread over an area of 54,750 squares meters, north of the Palacio de Congresos. This is the most important investiment in the history of the municipality. It can be added that it will be one of the most bulky with 100% private funds in the last decades in the province.
A direct investment of 650 million euros is foreseen, which would have to add an indirect disbursement close to 550 million euros by the operatores, according to the estimates of the British firm. This leisure park, which will have giant Ferris wheel, shops, restaurants, walking areas, a ski slope and a wave pool for surfing, among other claims, will create 4.000 direct jobs and 3.000 indirect jobs during the Work and after the opening.
Only in termns of licenses, and always according to the company’s forecasts, the City of Torremolinos will enter fifteen million euros, an amount equivalent to 15% of the annual municipal budget. Also, is added an economix consideration in the form of capital gains for the municipal coffers of 996.574 euros; plis a contribution of 3000,000 euros that will be allocated to the provision of infrastucture un the Cañada de los Cardos.
As you can see, the Costa del Sol is in the spotlight of international incestors, and it is only neccesary that the projects start to fruition.
